Hello, I’m Catherine

Prior to starting Jewels Antiqua, I spent 12 years in the London antique jewellery trade, working with incredible high-end antique pieces daily. As wonderful as it was playing with tiaras and knock out-diamonds, my passion for antique jewellery is not limited to the 'high-end'. I adore antique jewellery and wear it every day, and I wanted to create an online treasure trove of more accessible, wearable and perhaps down to earth antique and vintage jewellery. I wanted to sell a collection of jewels that I absolutely covet, that was affordable, and I also want to share the knowledge I have built up over my time in the industry. 

Antique jewels are undeniably romantic and by nature are full of interesting historical references; from the sweetest hidden messages in the language of flowers, to the reflection of important historical events, such as the discovery of ancient Egyptian tombs in the 19th century and the Suffragette movement of the early 20th Century. My love of antique jewellery is brought to life in my small but perfectly formed collection that is for sale here, through this I want to encourage others with my enthusiasm for jewels from another era. 

I have catalogued each piece carefully, taking time to research and test where needed, so you can rest assured that every piece is what the description says it is. If you have little or no experience, buying antique pieces can be daunting, so I have done my utmost to describe it to you accurately and correctly.
