Edwardian 9ct Rose Gold Glass Locket
This Edwardian glass locket is so beautiful in its simplicity, it’s waiting for something pretty to be put inside; a feather, a pair of photographs, a lock of hair or perhaps pressed flowers? The 9ct rose gold bezel encloses the glass securely and the locket is opened easily by sliding a thumbnail into the subtle indent opposite the hinge. A lovely statement piece (bigger than the ones I have previously had) with or without a memento inside, and will look fabulous hung on all sorts of chains at any length.
Era
Edwardian, circa 1910
Material
9ct rose gold (tested) and glass
Measurements
Diameter 34mm
Weight
8.7 grams
Condition
Excellent, however I want to point out that I think at some stage one piece of glass has either been taken out and put back in, or replaced, as one side is concave and I would expect it to be convex. It’s a bit of a mystery but the locket still functions perfectly!
