Georgian Diamond Ring
This is an exquisite little ring. If I'm honest it's the first Georgian diamond ring I've owned. I see genuine example so rarely and the good ones are (quite rightly) crazy money. I did pounce on this one, I have to admit! I love a pinky ring, and one studded with super nobbly old diamonds, dating from around 1820 is going to do it for me (and I hope you, too!). The head of this ring is paved with little diamonds, into a silver topped gold setting (as was usual practice in those days). The underneath of the head is mostly closed, save for a tiny opening underneath the central stone, and for his reason, you should try your best not to get the ring wet. The shoulders and band are so beautiful in their simplicity, it's a real little treasure.
Era
Circa 1820
Material
9ct rose gold (XRF tested) silver, and diamonds
Measurements
Width at head 4mm, width of band 2mm
Size
G (UK) 3.25 (US)
Condition
Very good antique condition, but I suspect the central stone might have been replaced at some point, it is an old cut, and looks fabulous either way
